My wife is a soldier in the 155th National Guard Unit based here in North Mississippi. She was stationed at Forward Operating Base Kalsu approximately 30 miles south of Baghdad in the heart of the Sunni triangle for the last 12 months. She arrived back home to me and our two girls (one 12 and the other 7) on Christmas Eve. I had kept the shadowbox a secret and had her open it at a family gathering Christmas morning. When she opened it she just sat there and was a little confused of what it was. Then she started reading the captions with her head down when she got to the side about the fallen soldiers I started to see tears hitting the glass on the case.
